Endless views, and stunning landscapes with epic mountains towering in the background make The Salt Flats a magical place for an elopement or micro-wedding. The Salt Flats near the Utah - Nevada border, are not your typical epic wedding location; yet this beautifully vast, almost desolate landscape is the perfect place to get away from the busy city, have a little adventure, and share your vows with your soulmate, and the universe.
We started their wedding day off by meeting in the morning for some casual photos as played in the salt while taking in the expansiveness of nature on the salt flats, before sitting down for a romantic picnic lunch. One of the things that we enjoy most is slowing the day down, so there is no rush and you can take in every moment.
Originally we planned to have the ceremony in the evening, but anyone who knows Utah, and especially the West desert, also knows the weather can be unpredictable. As they finished up lunch, we could see the storm clouds in the distance - so instead of taking a break to go into the nearby town, we grabbed the changing tent (one of our must-have Items in the adventure van) and they hopped into their wedding attire, and were ready for a formal first look.
Alejandra and Trey have a connection that is otherworldly, they are true soulmates and wanted to celebrate their journey together with a very intimate ceremony, just the two of them and their officiant. To make the moment as unique as their love, the ceremony was completely customized to the two of them, with talk of the full moon, their connection as soul mates, and how the universe brought them together.
After a teary first look, and a few minutes to have an energetic clearing and meditation guided by their officiant, as well as calling in of the 4 directions, It was time to tie the knot, literally!
“Love has brought us here today, because you Trey and Alejandra, have a relationship that is cosmic and divine; The bond that you already share is stronger than anything on heaven or earth.”
“You are more precious to me today than yesterday, and you will be more cherished tomorrow than you are today. Please wear this ring as a symbol of my eternal love for you, a love that transcends all of our yesterdays, all of our days, and all of our tomorrows.”
- From Their Ring Exchange
Please Join Your hands, and with your hands, your hearts.
May these hands be blessed this day. May they build a relationship founded in love, and rich in caring. May these hands be healer, protector, shelter, and guide for each other.
Trey and Alejandra, as your hands are bound together now, so your lives and spirits are joined in a union of love and trust.
Two entwined in love, bound by commitment and fear,
sadness and joy, hardship and victory.
All of which bring strength to this union.
And so the binding is made.
After the ceremony, we moved to the area where they had a little post-ceremony celebration. Playfully cutting their celestial-themed wedding cake, and sharing a piece with one another as we all toasted to the twin-flame union, thanking all the universe for bringing them together.
We wrapped up the afternoon with formal portraits as the once clear blue sky gathered clouds and turned to a dusty grey hovering over the mountains, and the sun dimmed in the west as it lowered in the sky, giving way for the Full April moon to rise.
That's A Wrap!
